What To Look For In An All In One Printer
Today all in one printers are capable of doing such a wide variety of tasks and do so many things that it can be difficult to make a final choice. Some machines will offer higher quality of printing, while others may have the capacity of higher resolution of scanning.
Some machines will be able to send and receive a greater number of faxes, while others will be able to print at very high capacity. Still other machines will utilize ink jet technology while other machines will use ink jet printers. Here are some basic factors to consider when searching and deciding which all in one printer is right for you.
The first thing to consider is the print speed. If the print speed is too low it may be worth it to you to pay more upfront in exchange for a machine that will be able to adequately keep up with the work load requirements. As a general rule black and white documents are produced more quickly than full color documents. Obviously pictures will take longer to print than letters.
After print speed another factor to consider is the resolution of the printer. While speed is important so is clarity, especially if the items being printed are for more than just personal use. The higher the resolution, the higher the end result will be. Especially when printing photographs considering the highest resolution possible is very important.
Memory card capacity is also very important to consider. Ideally you would like to have a machine that can successfully interface with all kinds of different devices and memory cards. Having a machine that can only interface with select types of memory cards can be somewhat limiting, especially when printing larger files such as photographs.
Fax speed is still another factor to consider. Although faxes are quickly fading away in popularity as people continue to use more digital mediums such as email, it's important to have an all in one printer that has a decent capacity to be able to send faxes at a quick pace without occupying the phone line unnecessarily.
Perhaps the final element to consider is the scanner resolution. Copying and scanning documents and photographs will require the use of a high resolution scanner. Just like high resolution is required to print with clarity, so also high resolution is required to capture the original image or document. When possible select the highest resolution your budget will allow.
